Jack O Lantern Polishes
It’s October, finally Halloween will soon be upon us and I can finally put up some Halloween decorations outside (which I’ve been anticipating since the beginning of September).
I did a quick swatch of the two pumpkin polishes I bought this year at Meijers and am still deciding if I want to try some more colors or wait until after Halloween clearance.
At any rate, if you’ve ever wondered where these lil’ pumpkin polishes come from, the company listed on the bottom of the bottle is called Blue Cross Beauty Products. Googling them doesn’t turn up much, but they are also responsible for the little snowman polishes you might have seen as well as some other little funky polishes occasionally seen (especially at Meijer) such as the Lay It On Me layered polishes.
I picked up two glittery shades for now:

What drew me to the silvery shade was the fact that it contained little black hexagon glitter particles, which would definitely make it unique to my stash.

My ultimate goal is to do a manicure with this over some white polish, but for this post I just did a quick swatch over my existing polish.
I picked up this multi-colored glitter shade because it reminded me of the oh so popular multi-colored various sized glitters out these days, only this one was all small tiny particles of what appears to be rather dense glitter. In my mind I have myself doing a gradient type manicure using this and then the larger chunks of multi-colored and multi-sized glitter polishes.

I love colors, you can see them pretty well in the above pic… blue, green, silver, red, pink, orange, yellow/gold…very confetti like.
This picture is just one thin coat over the existing needing to be removed grey that I was wearing.

They both applied a little more sparsely than I thought they would, although the confetti-ish one was definitely the denser of the two. I did however find myself immediately loving the little black hexagons of the silver/black glitter.
The next picture is… I want to say 3 quick coats:

Super messy and I wish I had a good outdoor no flash pic of these, but I will be sure to get those if I get around to doing my envisioned manicures with them.
I was slightly bummed that it took 3 coats to what I got with the silver/black. But I think it will look pretty awesome of white. I like it quite a lot over that grey as well. The confetti glitter is still not opaque at three coats so it definitely remains a top coat type of glitter. The grey is very evident underneath. I love the colors though, I think it will be really fun to do my envisioned look with.
These applied smoothly. Dry in a decent amount of time as long as you don’t go too thick with the coats. If I would have taken my time with them they would have looked a lot smoother and nicer (these were swatch and remove), especially with the addition of top coat. Fun colors, and only around $2.50 a bottle.
