jane be pure mineral gel eyeliner
I haven’t gotten to play with the other 3 Bourjois goodies yet (admittedly I wore the loose eyeshadow I reviewed for a second day in a row) but I did play with the Jane Be Pure Mineral Gel eyeliner that I was thrilled to find, and am happy to report that I really like it and now I want to try out the other shades.
Gel eyeliners used to be a thing of high end lines. Bobbi Brown..famous for theirs of course…and MAC…very well known for theirs. Only recently did a similar product hit the drugstores in the form of L’Oreal HIP’s gel eyeliner.
This is what I was hoping to get from the Revlon one that I gave less than favorable reviews to. Guess there is a big difference between gel & cream eyeliners *heh*
Jane’s Be Pure Mineral Gel Eyeliner comes in four basic shades: Black, Brown, an eggplant shade, and a dark blue. They’re around $6 retail. A far cry from other gel liners that retail around $20..or even other drugstore liners that are similar and retail for around $12.
I of course went with black to test out this product. I’m always in the market for the perfect of all perfect black eyeliners. I don’t think I have necessarily found it yet, but I am still pleased with this product.
It comes in a sturdy glass jar with silver screw on cap. Also comes with its own eyeliner brush which is surprisingly really nice! It is sturdy, well made, no stray brush hairs going out any place, and applies a nice crisp line in a pretty idiot proof way.
The product is indeed gel like, gently pushing the brush into the product picks up a perfect amount of product. The color is indeed a nice rich black, unlike the Revlon Cream liner I tried earlier. The product dries nicely and while not completely budge proof, doesn’t flake or rub away easily. It also dries pretty fast.
For 6 bucks you’re getting a great deal… a highly functional brush and a great product that definitely lives up to its expectations.

(Yes there is a little brown spot in there, apparently some of the brown liner got dipped into my black pot at the factory)

I just recently tried the eggplant shade of Jane’s gel eyeliner. I LOVED it!! The color is amazing, the liner didn’t smudge and the brush is perfect!!!
Hey…I got this (along with the one in wine at BOGO) a few months ago and the black one is the real deal…it’s inkier than the wet n wild (in black) and even easier to apply…As for the purple one, it was fairly pretty and shimmery the first time I tried it, like how I would imagine the LE stila smudge pot in amethyst would be…but it dried out within a week for some reasons…
Anyway…the wet n wild actually has some insane staying power that I tried the smudge pot, the two jane liners and WNW on my hand and wipe it with a lot of sweet almond oil…while all other got dissolved right away…the Wet n Wild line was still there…
