2 Revlon Offerings..wait…Three
Summer collections are always my favorite… April…May… the drugstore really starts getting lots of new products in. The only other comparable time is around Fall…these are the two times of year it seems you really start seeing new stuff.
Generally I am not a huge Revlon fan. They are a nice line, don’t get me wrong, but I often try to look for more.. err fun things I guess. Except I LOVE LOVE LOVE their “high end” LE collection.
At any rate, I recently stumbled upon their new Beyond Natural collection which has an offering of your face but better colors and products. I saw my weakness, LIP TINT. My display offered three shades: Nude, Pink, & Berry. I bought Nude to start off, but let me tell you, I am going back for the rest.
Beyond Natural Liptint SPF 15 rocks my world.
I am a sucker for lip tints, what can I say. I was drawn to this for its simple sleek tube and the fact that it has SPF 15. And oh yeah…it said lip tint on it =P
I paid around $7, and it is a fair enough price I suppose, seeing you get a good amount of product in the tube. The first thing I noticed was the lip tint has a nice very slight raspberry candy like smell. Sort of like Rimmel Underground lipsticks only not as sickeningly sweet. The flat top is also nice. I don’t know, I usually wear my lipsticks down flat, so that is how I like them I guess.
Putting this on, it is almost more like a lipstick than a lip tint. WAY more pigmented than I expected, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Definitely better than getting a tint and discovering it is basically like clear chapstick, that’s for sure. In fact this reminds me more of a moisturizing lipstick more than anything to be honest.
The product is EXTREMELY comfortable on my lips. Not waxy, not sticky, not greasy. It feels slightly creamy and/or like a super light non greasy balm (if such a thing exists). The color is non shimmery, very creamy looking. So far I have only purchased Nude (but plan to go back for the others) and it is a gorgeous creamy nude pink on my lips with just a dab of peachy brown. It is the perfect natural pink-nude for my lips.
Personally I think *everyone* needs to try this. It is the perfect easy go to daytime lip product that can easily transfer to more sophisticated looks.

I also spotted new cream eyeliners from Revlon. Limited Edition Line Fantasy liners to be exact, in your basic shades of black, brown, navy & a deep purple.
You know I had to purchase one. The price wasn’t bad, around $8.

Admittedly, I don’t have a ton of experience with cream and/or gel eyeliners. But…me thinks these aren’t the greatest.
Revlon even gives you a little eyeliner brush, which I found didn’t apply the product quite as well as I hoped. It would so stiff that it sort of drew a well in the line while applying, and it was a little too thick for my liking as well. The black, which I purchased, was also not as deep as I had hoped. Yes it was black, but it didn’t provide me with that stark crisp black line that i wanted. Nor is this product, from my experience, smudge proof. It does not dry down to a budge free finish and fades rather substantially over the course of the day. I really don’t see myself holding onto this product.

Finally, I purchased Revlon’s Golden Affair LE blush in Berry Daring at a complete steal at 3 bucks at Walgreens since these are finally be phased out of the LE collection. I was torn between Berry Daring and Merlot After Midnight but ended up making a wise choice I think, b/c Berry Daring is exactly what I wanted… a rich rosy berry flush.
Now I am quite pale and this blush is quite pigmented so I need only to barely touch my brush to the surface and then buff onto my cheeks and I get a perfect rosy flush. True.. a lot of the gold shimmer is overspray and goes away, but the blush is still shimmery through out.

2 out of 3 success, not bad!
