Gotta Start Somewhere, Physicians Formula Tinted Moisturizer
Well miswell start somewhere right?
One thing you will learn about me, is I am not a high end maniac. You’ll rarely hear me ramble on and on about high end products in this blog. GAS IS $3.75 A GALLON! WHO HAS MONEY TO BUY NARS?!
That and since I have been a bit of a makeup addict for so long… well I can tell yah there are plenty of great affordable products out there. In fact one of the greatest thrills in life is finding something amazing for cheap. And it is not so disappointing when you do happen to purchase crap, if it was cheap anyways.
I recently purchased Physicians Formula Organic Wear Tinted Moisturizer.

Now… just for some background… I’ve been a PF fan for many years. Clear back to the green concealer and Le Velvet Film foundation. That was like 7th grade and I was desperate to conceal puberty.
I know I know, PF does seem like a drugstore line that would be a wee bit expensive for me. That is what 40% off sales and coupons are for my friends. That and well, a lot of this line is worth the higher drugstore price.
The new organic line by PF manages to be very appealing… for well an organic line. Let’s face it, many organic products seem a little blah both in packaging and appeal.
I started hearing little whispers about the organic line’s tinted moisturizer so decided to give it a try when I found it 40% off. I wasn’t necessarily looking for a new moisturizer, I am very happy with my Lac-Hydrin Five, but I wouldn’t mind a little extra moisture and tint.
This TM doesn’t make any outrageous claims, it does have SPF 15 (a +) . It is basically supposed to even out skin tone & moisturize. Pretty much what you would expect a tinted moisturizer to do, right?
As far as a moisturizer, it’s good. Leaves my skin feeling soft and velvety. Pigment wise, well.. let’s just say it is not the most pigmented tm on the market. Have great skin? Great, you can get away with just this I suppose. For me, it’s more of a base for my mineral makeup powder. One downside though, it can settle and accentuate large pores. I have large pores. Blending well and using a small amount is key.
I’m pretty happy with this product, from the price to the packaging to its performance. And look ma! No break outs on my clogged pore prone combo skin.
Overall:

I agree, it’s not super pigmented, but they do call it a tint….I was really eager to try the PF line, too, and am wearing the tinted moisturizer today. My skin is too dry to wear mineral makeup alone, anyway, so I agree, PF would be a great moisturizing base for something that provides more coverage.. And while I like the “cooling” sensation that Physician’s Formula Organic Wear tinted moisturizer provides, I’m pretty sure it’s just the effect of the alcohol in it (which a dry girl isn’t crazy about). But maybe this is what prevents you from breaking out?
